The runoff elections are necessary because no candidate in the primary contest received more than 50% of the votes.

Below are profiles of the candidate's in the order they appear on the primary runoff ballot. The runoff election has been moved from May 26th to July 14th.

Royce West is an attorney and mainstay in Dallas-area politics. He has served in the Texas Senate since 1993.
