El Paso — On Tuesday, September 24, 2019 Democratic Party Chair Iliana Holguin announced her support of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s call to formally begin the impeachment inquiry process into President Donald Trump following reports that Trump asked Ukraine’s president multiple times to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden’s son during a phone call made in July of 2019.
Speaker Pelosi, Hispanic Congressional Caucus Chairman Joaquin Castro (D-San Antonio), and Congresswoman Veronica Escobar are among a growing number of members of Congress (173 plus) calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
“The time for an impeachment inquiry has arrived. It is time for the truth. There is a formal complaint by a whistleblower. Any and all standing committees of the U.S. House of Representatives with jurisdiction over this matter should quickly receive, address, and formulate an official inquiry and/or investigation,” said Democratic Party Chair Iliana Holguin.
“I stand ready to support the Democratic Party leadership for initiating this effort that should be bipartisan in nature. Every American should be concerned that a sitting president appears to have violated his oath to the people of this country,” Chair Holguin concluded.
